I've been expecting you ...

Greetings, my name is Sebastiaan Jansen, aka Dr. Skunk, 30.219995192541855-year-old software developer at TinkerList.tv, working on automations and integrations.

From 2017 until 2021, I was a creative developer for the Innovation department at the Flemish broadcaster VRT, working on full-stack rapid prototyping. Most of those projects were built using a combination of React, Node.js and Python. These projects are used in almost every department in VRT, including "De Warmste Week", MNM and VRT NWS. What I am most proud of is my involvement in the following projects: Marconi, CPN and Fandango.

In my down time I spend a lot of time at my hackerspace Area 3001 where I put 3D printers and lasercutters to work and build all sorts of Maker projects. You can find some examples in my Instagram feed. During my free time I also work on small coding projects, which I sometimes stream on Twitch.tv/Drskunk_BE.

My main drive connecting all my projects together is a passion to get to know different kinds of technology and a love for radio and television. When starting a new project, I always try to add an element I haven't used previously to help myself learn new techniques and technologies.

So what's the deal with your hair?

So right, I get asked this a lot. I have an autoimmune skin condition called vitiligo which makes patches of skin lose their pigment. Sometimes the hair on that spot becomes white, which you can see on my head. So no, it's not contagious and no, I don't dye my hair.

You sound fun!

Thanks, you too! You can always send me a message over at the contact page.
